At This Point, 1995, mixed media, lighthouse, 16' high
Inspired by a waterfall in the Toronto Sculpture Garden, At This Point consisted of a buoy and a lighthouse. The lighthouse was based on the historic Gibraltar Point lighthouse on Toronto Island. A small window on the side of the lighthouse allowed the viewer to see a ‘moving’ stream of water running ‘below’ the ground. This effect was created using lighting effects and mirrors. Both the lighthouse and the buoy were illuminated at night.

"It is as if peering down into the depths of this edifice, we glimpse a manifestation of a remote, mysterious yet fundamental, life-supporting reservoire…" Carolyn Bell Farrell
